Open since 1970, WMMI proudly features working machinery, a model mining drift and gold panning stations in the 12,200 square foot exhibit hall, plus historic buildings and machinery on our beautiful 27 acre campus

  • Plan a trip to the Western Museum of Mining and Industry. Our rich, western history comes to life with interactive exhibits, knowledgeable and entertaining docents, Gold Panning and more.

  • Tour the historic Reynolds House, the lone survivor of Victorian-era farmhouses in northern El Paso County. This Queen Anne-style Victorian farmhouse was built in the mid-1890s and is now on the Colorado Register of Historic Properties.

    Learn about the history of the property and surrounding area during a 30 minute tour of the Reynolds House. Space is limited; please reserve your spot.

    Come see the Irwin S. Parrish Mineral Collection acquired by WMMI 25 years ago! Temporary Exhibits are included with your admission.

  • PPLD Bookmobile and Storytime
    PPLD Bookmobile and Storytime

    PPLD brings the convenience of their BOOKMOBILE to WMMI each Monday morning.
    PLUS, preschool age children can delight in storytime inside the Reynolds Ranch House. Contact PPLD for more information

  • WMMI offers a wide range of educational programs for all ages. Along with our monthly lecture series, WMMI offers engaging STEaM CAMP over Spring Break and the Summer. Plus, schools from around the area come to WMMI for incredible field trips to teach the importance of mining, manufacturing and ranching history in the American West.

  • See our Fluorescent Minerals Room. A 360 degree visual treat of glowing minerals. This amazing room is open when the museum is open, and is included in your admission.

  • Membership has its privileges. Help be a part of our important mission and preserve Colorado History.

  • See our variety of event venue and rental opportunities, perfect for your family reunion, wedding, company meeting, picnic or team building retreat. Rent our cozy library or theater. Host an event in our unique machinery exhibit area. Create an authentic atmosphere in our newly renovated Hay Barn, or out on our vast campus.

  • Want to pay it forward? Give back? Share your skills? WMMI offers a wide variety of opportunities to volunteer: from landscaping and maintenance to Tour Guides, receptionists, archivists and much more. We have flexible schedules and wonderful camaraderie.
